A Little Update From Me
Hi friends (and random strangers who are bored and perhaps reading my blog in the wee hours of the morning). It's been almost a month since I last wrote (didn't I start off like that last time?) I think I have some sort of internal clock that dings around the 30 day mark telling me I MUST update my Blog or else family and friends will be truly dissapointed. ;)
So what's new with us? Well.... we will be the proud homeowners of our lovely little Ranch in 9 short days! (How did I know that so quickly? I have one of those paper link chains and I tear off a link every morning.............kidding!) I can't believe how quickly the past few months have gone!! We actually were just up at the house with the kids yesterday. The current homeowner (a lovely older woman moving into a Senior Center in town) called me on Friday to ask if I wanted to come by; she had a few things she was thinking about leaving behind and wanted to know if we were intersted. Free stuff? Hell yeah I'll be there! So we took the kids and headed up there yesterday. I know it's not my house yet but even when it is next week, I don't think I will believe it. It will be this woman's house still... I hope that feeling fades fast! I'd hate to worry about dropping food on some other ladies carpet!
She was really happy when we bid on the house because she wanted a young family to move in. Then when she saw Emily running up and down the halls and into every room yesterday (and Vinny was worried she'd be uncomfy in her new surroundings!) she said "it's so nice to see little kids in here again") (she has three grown sons... one of whom we met yesterday). So as far as the free goods go... we are getting this ginormous wall mirror for our bedroom, a couch in the basement, a patio table with 4 chairs, oh... I'd say about 100 new glasses, including, but not limited to, wine, juice, goblets, yada yada yada. Emily fell in love with a picture of two tigers and kept yelling "cat!" so the lady is leaving that for her. :)
Once we close, we have a few plans to put into motion before we actually move in. We have to install a shower in the downstairs bathroom, make the downstairs bedroom bigger, rip up all of our carpeting (it's in really great condition but seafoam green is so NOT my color), get a new stove and countertops, paint, paint and paint some more! I am in charge of the painting. Why? Because I said so. :) Oh and we are going to look into putting an outside entrance into our basement so we have easy access to the laundry and boiler rooms. That means cutting into our deck but our deck is really large so we don't even think it will make a dent. We are so looking forward to entertaining out there this Summer!!!
I am sure we will be overly excited later next week so look for a new entry about OUR house....when it really becomes OURS!

My babies. They are doing great. :) Andrew is FINALLY on a schedule (thank you God!). He was very needy for the first three months... if you are out of his line of vision, he freaks! At the three month mark though, he became a new baby! He just turned four months and he is really developing his own little personality. He smiles a lot, laughs really loud, makes eye contact and is super alert when people come into the room, uses his walker, watches cartoons with his sister and eats like a toddler. haha He isn't a big cereal eater because he takes cereal in his bottles, so really, how much oatmeal can one stand? But he LOVES his fruits and veggies! So far, he has had bananas, apples, sweet potatoes and squash. He downs an entire Stage 1 jar in about 7 minutes. That is probably the reason he outgrew the 3-6 month clothing before he even had a chance to really wear it all and is now in 6-9 months, if not 12 months in some items. He is a terrible napper but hey, I can't win them all right? He fights me tooth and nail during the day but usually will conk out for one long nap anyway. But at night he is doing really great! He goes to be anywhere between 8:30 and 9:30 and sleeps ALLLL night through (watch I just jinxed myself!) He actually does better then Emily did at this age.
Princess Emmie. She is doing excellent! She keeps herself occupied all day long.... it's really cute. She still has the same old tv favorites: Sesame, Blues Clues, Barney, Bear in the Big Blue House.... She never did get into Dora (thank GOD!!!!!) And if you know me, you know I really dislike The Wiggles (what grown men do this sort of thing for a living? They scare me). But we were so bored with our videos and with the kids having colds right after Christmas and Emily running a small fever last week, we were really cooped up all day. I felt bad and I caved and..GASP... bought a Wiggles DVD! I still don't really like the weirdos but the video is cute and Emily loves it. She really has picked up a lot from it! Her newest thing is to hop around while she chants "hop!". She also loves to do the hand gestures for "If you're happy and you know it..." I think the cutest part of that routine is when they say "then your face will surely show it.." and she points to her mouth and cracks a smile. :)
Emily had a fever and a cold with a nasty cough last week, but nothing a little Triaminic couldn't help. Andrew, luckily, didn't catch the fever but he has a dry cough. Seems when one gets something, the other follows right behind. Both kids go for well-baby checkups on March 1st.

Well, I'd love to write more but I've been sitting at this computer all day (I just took up digital scrapbooking)! so my eyes need a break. Have a lovely week! :)
